Rules & Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in exhibiting in our Annual Open Arts Juried show! Please review the rules carefully. If your submission is not filled out completely or if it does not follow the guidelines it will not be accepted.

1. Eligibility
Open to all Artists at least 18 years old. All Works must be original & can be of any subject & medium, with a 3’x3’x3’ size restriction. Prior to delivery, Works must be prepped & ready to hang. Framed & canvas pieces must be tightly wired & canvas pieces must be gallery wrapped. The Gallery uses a Click Rail System, please consider this while preparing your Works. Any Works using clip frames, saw-tooth hangers, & nails will not be accepted. Paper pieces must be framed. If the Works are light enough, command strips, provided by the artist, can be used but must be tested prior to hanging to ensure they can hold the weight of the piece. If the Gallery has to prep or Wire the pieces, a $10 fee will be charged per piece. Artists are not guaranteed to be in the show. Decisions are made by the judges.

2. Entry Process
On the drop-off date the artist may come between 12-6pm, sign in & leave their Works in Gallery160. The artist must attach the filled out submission form securely to the back of their Work. If submitting multiple Works make sure you label each one correctly & clearly on the back. Payment must be made before or at the time of drop-off. If the submission fee is not paid your Work will not be accepted.

3. Entry Fee
Artists may submit up to 3 pieces. The non-refundable submission fee is $25 for one Work, and $35 for 2-3 Works. Payment may be made by check, cash, or credit card. Make all checks out to Amazing Things Arts Center.

4. Prizes
There will be prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Best in Show & Fan Favorite. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & Best in Show will be chosen by the judges. There will be a vote for Fan Favorite from September 9th – 14th ending at 7pm. Prizes will awarded at the opening reception on September 14th at 7:30pm.

5. Delivery & Installation of Works
On the date set by the gallery, Works must be hand delivered, no exceptions. The Gallery is not responsible for damage caused during the delivery. It is up to the artist to ensure all Works are securely packaged to prevent damages. The Gallery Coordinator will hang the show. If there are special instructions for display, the artist should leave a detailed note with the Work.

6. Pricing & Sales
The Gallery prefers all work be for sale. Prices are set by the artist; the gallery adds Massachusetts sales tax (6.25%) to all pieces when sold. All sales go through Amazing Things Arts Center. The artist will be notified of a sale within a week of the gallery receiving payment. The Artist must pick up their check at Amazing Things after scheduling a time with the office to do so. Checks will not be mailed out unless specifically requested. For non-members the gallery will receive 35% of the sales after tax. If you are an Amazing Things member, the gallery will receive 25% of the sales after tax.

7. Insurance
Amazing Things Arts Center has $50,000 insurance coverage. The gallery is not responsible for losses including, but not limited to indirect, incidental or consequential damages.

8. Removal of Works
All Works must be removed by the artist on the date set by the gallery. The artist must sign out their work upon removal. If a Work has been sold it is the responsibility of the customer to remove the Work, not the artist. Works will become the property of Amazing Things if not picked up within 2 months of the removal date.

9. Miscellaneous
This agreement is an understanding between both parties. By signing below the artist agrees with all terms set by Amazing Things Arts Gallery. The artist may provide an artist statement or bio to be displayed if they wish. Images of the artist & the Works may be used for promotional purposes, the artist retains all rights to their Work.

Please Note: Not all submissions will be chosen for this exhibit.

  • Drop Off Submissions: September 6, 12-6pm
  • Jurors Review: September 7
  • Notification of Acceptance: September 7
  • Collection of Unaccepted Works: September 8, 12-6pm
  • Opening Reception: September 14, 6-8pm
  • Collection of Work: October 31-November 1, 12-6pm
