March 7 - June 2

March 7th – June 2, 2018

The Morton Street Gallery

Reception: TBD

Lena McCarthy is an emerging artist / muralist from Wayland, Massachusetts. She studied painting & printmaking at Boston University. Soon after, she took off to Santiago, Chile where she became actively involved in the local street art and printmaking scenes. It was there that she taught herself to make paper, and created the series “In Search of Open Spaces,” as a reflection of her time living in Chile and traveling the Patagonian landscape.

Strewn with cartographic imagery, this body of work is a reflection on travel, integration, and multiplicity in belonging. McCarthy uses her textured papers, woodcut prints, and collage to layer together a sense of otherworldliness, while invoking the Andes mountain range. In this series, she invites us to explore our senses of “wanderlust” and attachment to places we call home.

The Morton Street Gallery is our satellite gallery in Exhibit ‘A’ Brewery located at 81 Morton Street, Framingham, MA 01702.
