February 7th – May 7th, 2018
The Amazing Starbucks Gallery
“Years ago, I drove to northern Maine to photograph a house that I spent childhood summers in with my father. The photographs of the house were a farewell, as it was demolished in 2015. Since that time, I have said goodbye to the person I shared those memories with as well.
It is said that each time you reconstruct a memory in your mind you inherently change it. I shelter the memories that I shared with my father in the outskirts of my mind, to keep them unchanged.
I have layered images from my childhood with the photographs of that summer home, in a way to reconstruct the people and places that live in the back of my mind. These photographs are those memories revisited.”
Trisha Danforth’s work spans genres and mediums with an underlying emphasis on the process of creating. The various processes of art-making that she explores contributes to the personal and meditative mood of her work.
She is inspired by simple accidents: wrinkles in paper, fraying fabric, and knotted wood. Not limited by mediums or labels, her multi-media work explores traditional and non-traditional means of communicating often fleeting emotions or memories. Trisha Danforth graduated from Framingham State University with a BA, concentrating in Printmaking.
The Amazing Starbucks Gallery is our satellite gallery in the local Starbucks. The gallery is located at 25 Prospect Street, Framingham, MA 01701 on Rt. 9 near Whole Foods.
