True Colors: Out Youth Theater uses a proven community-based theater approach to train and activate at-risk LGBTQ and allied youth leaders to become leaders in their communities. The majority of participants are youth of color from low-income urban neighborhoods ages 14-22. Many of these youth are at heightened risk of drug and alcohol use, being homeless, and being bullied; yet our programming empowers youth to use their personal experiences and turn them into stories that educate communities about being young and LGBTQ, promoting acceptance and tolerance.

We are excited to welcome True Colors to Metrowest: we encourage all teenagers as well as parents, teachers and community leaders to attend this eye-opening performance and discussion of issues of importance to LGBTQ individuals of all ages.

The True Colors Creative Action Crew (CAC) is a touring theater ensemble for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning young adults and their straight allies. The CAC is comprised of performers who use theatrical approaches to share the concerns, joys, and resiliency of LGBTQ people through an interactive performance. Winner of 2016 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award. The performance will include a Q&A, and pizza will be served after the show.

Co-sponsored by OUT Metrowest, and Greater Boston PFLAG.
