This is an open call for New
England area filmmakers to screen and discuss their
films before a live audience – and
enjoy popcorn and have fun!
The evening is made up of one feature
film and/or several shorts. Filmmakers are given five
minutes prior to a screening to present themselves
and their work; and ten minutes afterwards to field
questions from the audience, promote themselves and
discuss their works in progress.
It’s easy to participate, and everyone is welcome
to submit their work.
Submission Guidelines:
All genre of Independent films (meaning films made
for less than 1 million dollars) made by filmmakers
in New England (meaning the producer, director or screenwriter
are from New England) are welcomed. DOWNLOAD SUBMISSION

All films must
be submitted on DVD.

Films originated
on Video/DV/HDV/HD/CG are acceptable.

Preference may be given to films that were shot
in New England.

All genre of films are welcome.

Films can be shorts,
features, fiction, documentary, animation or a combination.

X-rated, soft-core porn and Music-videos are not
accepted.

Films considered for screening night will
be selected by the Amazing Things Film Review Committee.

Submissions will not be returned unless appropriate stamped return
mailers are included by the filmmaker.

Amazing
Things will not purchase the films, nor any rights
associated with the films.

Filmmakers submitting
their projects for screening understand that they
are volunteering their films for public screening and
discussion without compensation in any form from Amazing
Things Art Center
Filmmaker Responsibilities:
- DVDs
DVDs must have a Menu w/a START button.
DVD audio must be “mixed” properly for presentation.
- Filmmakers must attend the screening night and
be prepared to discuss their film w/audience. If
a filmmaker cannot attend his/her screening, the
film will be pulled unless a representative can take
the filmmaker’s place. (Said representative
must be able to discuss the film with the audience.)
- Provide a press kit, including photos, posters,
bios, contact information, if available.
- Provide a clip (.mov) for web-use to promote your
film if selected. (optional)
- Coordinate with Host and Committee Coordinator
on all details for the screening night.
- Filmmakers are encouraged to publicize screening
night to their fan-base/supporters, etc.
- Filmmakers will have the opportunity to sell merchandise
to the audience (via the concession area) and network
with colleagues.
- Merchandising & networking must not interfere
with the next presenter/screening.
- All merchandising must be limited and related to
their film(s) being screened.
- Merchandising material must be approved by Amazing
Things beforehand.
Amazing Things Arts Center Responsibilities:
- Promote the evening & provide press materials
to local press, statewide media, agency publications
and agency websites.
- Provide necessary equipment for screenings (including
digital projector, DVD player, projection screen
and speaker system.)
- Provide an “MC” for the Indie Film
Night presentation.
- Provide one trained volunteer to assist the Host
with tasks during the screening and to be responsible
for the selling of concessions.
- Provide popcorn, soda and other concessions during
screening nights. (Complimentary popcorn for audience/members
is included with of price of admission.)
