Don White brings his unique style of comedy, music and storytelling to our Wednesday Open Comedy Mique. Don who has been an Amazing weekend feature many times, has had audiences laughing and crying at the same time.
White, from Lynn, who performs nationally and has been a weekend feature several times at Amazing Things, says ''it is always fun to do open mique shows where you can mix old and new material as well as interact with exciting new performers.'' He added, ''Amazing Things is a fantastic venue that is doing extraordinary work for the arts in the community.''
Amazing Director Michael Moran said of White, ''Don is very involved with our community of singer-songwriters and is someone who many of us seek out for advice or just good company. Don is also one of the funniest guys in the business.''
A Boston Globe review called White, ''a riot on stage, a bona fide crowd pleaser and one of the most popular acts on the
circuit who plays an audience the way Leo Kottke plays a 12-string.''
Folk star Christine Lavin with whom White often performs, commented, ''whenever I am feeling blue, I just listen to one of our tapes and all my woes float into space. I'm saving a fortune on therapy.''
