I am a figurative artist from Framingham, MA.
In my work, I use portraiture to emphasize the complexity of an individual’s persona.
Through my portraits,
my subjects take on passive, defensive or emotional roles.
Where one portrait may allow the viewer into a private space, another portrait will make the
viewer feel like an intruder.
I work from life throughout the creation of each piece when it is possible. I use oil and acrylic paint, pastels, and charcoal for most of my artwork.
The quality of these materials lend themselves to this process of creating an image that
points out the layers in a person’s visual presence.
