The next two months will see a series of events to celebrate Amazing Things’ 10 years of bringing music, theater and visual arts to Framingham and Metrowest!

The big event will be on Saturday, October 24 from 7-10pm when the community is invited to the Firehouse in downtown Framingham for a 10th Anniversary Celebration.  The theme is 10:  tickets will be $10, and there will be 10 amazing items to be raffled off, including a voice lesson by members of Ball in the House, and a week’s stay at Treasure Beach, Jamaica.  There will be a Trivia Quiz of 10 Memorable events from our 10 years, and more.  Appetizers and dessert will be offered throughout the evening, as well as a cash bar featuring Jack’s Abby beer.  The night will conclude with a mini concert by Eguie Castrillo and friends: Eguie was the first artist to perform for an Amazing Things-produced event, in May 2005!

In build up to this celebration, there is a raffle at every performance and open mic between Labor Day and October 24: every attendee will be given a free raffle ticket to win an Amazing Tshirt and decal. The fun extends to the Amazing Things website where “Throwback Thursday” features photos from the last 10 years.  Shows will include a number of familiar faces including Geoff Muldaur, Les Sampou and Mark Poulin as Roy Orbison.  Amazing Things will also be at MetroFest on Saturday, September 26, handing out free gifts to those that stop by.

Extending the celebration into November, our Folk Open Mic, with founding host Dan Cloutier, celebrates 10 years by featuring our beloved founder, Michael Moran, in the feature spot November 5.  The Folk Open Mic turns 10 on November 12 and will have a special recognition party starting at 7:30pm.

We encourage the Metrowest community to join us in celebrating 10 years of “Creating Community through the Arts” and supporting live music by joining us for one or more of these sure-to-be-fun events!  More details about the event on our website
