Amazing Things Arts Center is a 501(c)(3) arts organization whose mission is building community through the arts. Since 2005 we have been host to hundreds of professional artists and musicians in our 135 seat black box theater, curated multiple galleries, offer seasonal art markets, and long-standing open mics.
This summer we’ll be home to artists ages 8-12!
Our three unique camps focus on performance and the visual arts and provide the opportunity to learn from experienced professional artists. Kids learn in a safe and welcoming environment that encourages their individual voice while learning skills and techniques giving them tools to build on their talent. We keep our camps small in order to ensure ample room to let each child’s creative spirit grow.
This summer’s opportunities are:
Create your story five ways in five days! Learn about traditions of storytelling, develop your own story and bring it to life through writing, performance, song, and visual arts. Guided by accomplished storyteller, Jannelle Codianni and a variety of guest artists who are experts in their craft, campers will learn the elements of story building, the art of supportive and constructive critique, and experience the pride of creating a collection of artistic work.
Learn the basics of improv comedy from professional improvisors live on our stage! Improv is a team sport where performers learn how to support each other to make creative comedy on the fly. Campers will train their brains to think fast and think fun through classic and unique improv games.
Learn how to make a big impact on your cityscape with mural art! Local artists Mia Cross and Lena McCarthy will lead young artists in the planning and execution of a large mural on our firehouse pump house. Campers will learn the value of collaboration, design, and the pride of accomplishing a group project with lasting results.
All of our teachers and assistants are background checked. Amazing Things seeks excellence through inclusiveness. We warmly celebrate the unique contributions of artists of all races, gender identities, religions, ethnicities, sexualities, social locations, ages and abilities. Our facility supports inclusion by providing an accessible building and gender neutral bathrooms.
Each camp week costs $350 per student, payable in full on booking. Camp sizes are max 20, min 15. Full refund will be made in the case of under-enrollment. Registration deadline June 5th
