Do you have a story to tell? Have you heard the Moth on NPR and want to try it? Or do you love to entertain people at parties with your tales? In this workshop, we’ll help you discover an interesting story from your life, teach you the elements of a good story and what makes a story more compelling, give you lots of practice telling it within the group as well as some individual coaching, and have you ready to share your story with the world, whether it be on a stage or in your living room.
You will learn how to tell a great personal story from your life. You’ll learn the elements that make up a good story, figure out what belongs in your story and what doesn’t, learn what makes a story compelling and draws an audience in, and be ready to share your story outside of the group.
Meghann Perry, CARC, is an actor, storyteller, teaching artist, and certified addiction recovery coach. She got her degree in Theater Education and is excited that she actually gets to use it, both as a performer and as a teacher of theater and storytelling, since her parents said she’d never make a living with an arts degree. She’s the winner of many story slams and has shared with countless people her love of the craft.
