Geoff Bartley is an acoustic folk/blues guitar player, singer/songwriter, harmonica player and recording artist. In the 1980s, he won four guitars at the National Fingerpicking Championships in Winfield, Kansas. My last two CDs went to No.1 on Folk Radio. and more recently, released his fifteenth full-length CD in December, 2014. Geoff often plays with Tom Paxton, whose title track of his new album, Redemption Road, put words to a tune by Geoff. He is a long time host of weekly open mics at the Cantab Lounge in Cambridge, MA, and a recipient of the Boston Area Coffeehouse Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award. A world-class guitarist, a brilliant songwriter and the prophet and spiritual godfather of the Boston folk scene.

Opening for Geoff is Framingham resident Frank Sugrue. Frank is all about intelligent songwriting, searching out the sweet spot between message and a delivery. From a background that started in traditional folk, Frank reaches toward the edges of acoustic guitar with first rate fingerpicking and a powerful strumming style. He’s a natural storyteller, balancing the exuberant with the poignant, and able to distill universal truth out of his often romantic, drawn-from-life tales. “Frank Sugrue has a gift for embracing his powerful, compelling stories with exquisite melodies and tasteful arrangements. You’ll be moved by his message and enjoy the entire ride on “Edge” – Lori Diamond, Singer-Songwriter
