New Sound Assembly is part of the Barbershop Harmony Society, the world’s largest male singing society comprised of nearly 30,000 individuals that form over 800 chapters in North America. We sing American music a cappella (without instrumental accompaniment), in four-part harmony.

The mission of the New Sound Assembly Chorus is to sing and perform a cappella barbershop music in an environment of congeniality and harmony. We are united by having fun each and every time we meet, by the satisfaction of improving our craft, by developing friendships through the common bond of music and by service to and beyond our MetroWest community.

The New Sound Assembly Chorus is directed by Ray Johnson, assisted by Ralph Kerr.

Women of Note is an enthusiastic group of women who love to sing in a cappella harmony. Women of Note has existed for 25 years and holds 10 international medals with Harmony, Inc., an international organization of women who sing in the barbershop style.

Under the dynamic direction of Ray Johnson, our chorus produces top-notch shows and has performed at corporate functions, fundraising programs, private parties, a variety of indoor and outdoor events and even on radio and television shows!

Women of Note has entertained audiences locally, on the international contest stage, and in our own annual show. A portion of the proceeds from every Women of Note concert or fundraising event is donated each year in the support of our international designated charity.
