Structural Integrity: Stories from the building, demolition & re-purposing of a marriage & motherhood in the search for body autonomy.
- Tickets: Regular $15 • Member $12
Jannelle takes you through her journey of finding the soft spots, tearing back the compromised materials, and shoring up the framework inside. With her deep love of words, story-craft, and dedication to uncomfortable truth, she’ll have you alternately afraid she’ll tell you more and worried she won’t.
Demolition work is messy. Reconstruction is expensive. Even the best planned projects hold surprises. And despite the careful removal of old, still useful materials, something wanted always breaks. But once plaster dust is everywhere, the wiring is exposed, the budget blown, and the finish date is pushed out a few times, might as well go all in. Might as well take the time to make it strong and beautiful.
Jannelle has been writing and performing since the last century, when she first stepped into the spotlight as a producer and host. When she isn’t writing and performing, she’s working at a non-profit arts venue, remodeling her vintage camper, powerlifting, pushing her face slowly into soft things, or attempting to casually talk to her two daughters about consent.
An award winning story teller, she’s been a featured teller at many notable venues including WGBH Boston, Club Passim, The Davis Square Theater, The Mount, The Coolidge Corner Theater, The Out of the Blue Gallery, The Corner, The Lilly Pad, The Lars Anderson Auto Museum, at many Massmouth events and is an official storyteller of Fugitive Productions.
